Trust30: Mirror, Mirror

“Truth is beautiful, without doubt; but so are lies.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Mirror, mirror on the wall… find the nearest mirror. Look. Keep looking for 3 minutes. Write about what you see.

Hey, I recognize you. It's been too long!

Hello, dear friend.

Right there, behind your eyes, here I am. Amidst the toys in the attic, clambering for your attention, I'm right here, where I've always been. Where I always shall be. Nearer to you than your skin, as intimate as your breath.

I know. I would say that I've missed you, but sometimes I've gotten myself too busy or out of sorts to even feel that. When I allow myself to get quiet, I always know that you are there. I feel your love.

And you always will. That is all that there is here for you. I remember the truth when you don't. I hold it for you.

I see you in my eyes. I feel you now so much inside my heart.

You have a wonderful smile. When you smile like this, we smile. There is nothing between us. You know this.

I do. I could look at you like this forever. Time is non-existent now.

That is the truth, always. Your timer is about to go off. Come back anytime as we are always here, with you. We love you.

Three minutes already? It can't be...

  6. Thank you all. I find my world is most out of balance when I go unconscious and lose track of that voice. The best part of this project has been the daily touchstone aspect, re-minding me that I can always check-in, zero judgement. That is a comfort to know.
